These Terms & Conditions apply to all visitors, traders, contractors, performers and participants attending or working at Newquay Food Festival (“the Festival”). By entering the Festival site, you agree to comply with these terms.
1. General Information
Newquay Food Festival is a public event held at Killacourt, Newquay.
The Festival reserves the right to update or amend these Terms & Conditions at any time where reasonably necessary for safety, legal compliance, or operational reasons.
2. Entry & Admission
• Entry to the Festival is free unless otherwise stated.
• The Festival reserves the right to refuse entry or remove any individual at its discretion.
• All attendees must follow instructions from festival staff, security personnel, stewards, and emergency services.
• Under-16s must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
• Re-entry may be restricted during peak capacity periods.
The Festival operates within a licensed area. Alcohol consumption is permitted only within designated Festival boundaries.
3. Behaviour & Conduct
All attendees are expected to:
• Respect the site, neighbouring properties, and the town of Newquay
• Behave responsibly and safely
• Follow all safety instructions and signage
The following will not be tolerated:
• Anti-social behaviour
• Excessive intoxication
• Violence or threatening conduct
• Damage to property
• Harassment or discrimination
• Possession of illegal substances
• Possession of weapons or dangerous items
Individuals engaging in prohibited behaviour may be removed from the Festival and reported to authorities where appropriate.
4. Alcohol Policy
• Alcohol is served only to individuals aged 18 or over.
• Valid photographic ID may be required (Challenge 25 policy applies).
• Alcohol must remain within the licensed Festival area.
• The Festival reserves the right to refuse alcohol service at any time.
5. Food & Drink
• Outside food and drink are not permitted, except baby food or for medical requirements.
• All food traders are responsible for allergen compliance and food safety regulations.
• Attendees with allergies or dietary concerns must check directly with traders prior to consumption.
6. Safety & Security
• The Festival operates with professional event management and security teams.
• 24-hour on-site security is in place throughout the event period.
• First aid services are available during opening hours.
• Attendees enter the site at their own risk.
The Festival accepts no liability for:
• Loss, theft, or damage to personal property
• Personal injury unless caused by proven negligence
7. Weather & Event Changes
The Festival is an outdoor event and will proceed in most weather conditions.
The Festival reserves the right to:
• Adjust programming
• Change performance schedules
• Modify site layout
• Delay or suspend activity
In circumstances beyond reasonable control (including severe weather, public safety concerns, or government restrictions), the Festival may be postponed, relocated, or cancelled without liability.
8. Photography & Media
The Festival may photograph and film throughout the event for promotional and archival purposes.
By attending, you consent to being photographed or recorded. If you do not wish to appear in media content, please inform a member of staff.
9. Accessibility
The Festival aims to provide an accessible environment. Step-free access and accessible toilet facilities are available on site.
While every effort is made to ensure accessibility, the Festival takes place in an outdoor environment which may include uneven ground.
10. Traders & Exhibitors
All traders must:
• Hold valid public liability insurance (minimum £5 million cover)
• Comply with food hygiene, health & safety, and licensing requirements
• Submit necessary documentation prior to trading
• Complete risk assessments where required
• Follow all site rules, setup times, and breakdown procedures
Pitch fees are non-refundable except in the case of full Festival cancellation.
11. Prohibited Items
The following are strictly prohibited:
• Illegal substances
• Weapons
• Fireworks or flammable materials
• Gas canisters (unless authorised for traders)
• Drones (unless authorised in writing)
Security may conduct bag checks where necessary.
12. Liability
Attendees participate at their own risk.
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
13. Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
